Parent and Family Orientation is a specially designed one day orientation program for parents and family members of new Rutgers students. This day long program will include helpful sessions hosted by a variety of University offices and departments, a student panel, resource fair, and optional 5 campus bus tour. We strive to not only answer questions and provide guidance, but to connect family members with key resources in our Rutgers community. We will provide tips that we believe will help you be a partner alongside Rutgers in supporting your student's academic and social success.
Registration fee includes lunch, Rutgers family-themed giveaways, and a parking permit. Please note that all Parent and Family Orientation programs are separate from the New Student Orientation programs.
Due to space limitations, only two family members per student are permitted to attend. Each family member attending orientation must have an individual ticket. Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be guaranteed at the door if not purchased in advance. Please note that online ticket sales close one week before orientation program date. Tickets are also non-refundable and non-transferrable. Due to the topics and format of the program, it is not recommended for children. If a child must attend with parents, children under the age of 10 do not need to purchase a ticket.
Additional information on the Parent and Family Orientation program will be emailed to registered attendees one week prior to program date. General orientation program information can be found at www.new2ru.rutgers.edu
